In addition to the well-known emergency systems with round canopies, a system with a square canopy, the AVIATOR, has been on the market for several years. The idea of using airfoil parachutes in rescue systems is that a pilot can benefit from the advantages of these types of parachutes without having to undergo more training than is necessary for the safe use of round canopies.
